Earlier this month, Angola issued a decree exempting 98 countries, including 14 African countries, from visa requirements for tourist trips lasting 30 days per entry and 90 days per year.

Angola's decision aims to stimulate the local tourism sector, which is struggling, among other things, due to high visa costs and the long time required to complete regulatory formalities. The African countries concerned are Tanzania, Eswatini, Morocco, Lesotho, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, the Seychelles, Cape Verde, and Algeria. However, other types of visas such as work, study, medical treatment or residence permits remain in force for all foreign nationals.
