The Summit for a New Global Financial Pact, held from 22 to 23 June 2023 in the French capital, marks a major turning point for public and private decision-makers, who are committed to building a new consensus for a more inclusive international financial system, making it possible both to fight against inequalities, to finance the climate transition and to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals.

Numerous public and private actors have shown their collective determination to address common climate, environmental, and development challenges through strengthened global cooperation. At the Paris Summit, they made a series of commitments that, for some, will help to reform the international financial system, almost 80 years after the establishment of the Bretton Woods institutions, and, for others, to improve the protection of global public goods to preserve and care for the planet while guaranteeing low-cost financing to the poorest

Four main recommendations emerged from the work of the Paris Summit. It is a question of overcoming poverty and vulnerabilities, of remaining united in strengthening international solidarity, of protecting the planet and our common goods, of mobilizing additional financial resources, particularly from the private sector.
