Le lundi 28 août dernier, la compagnie pétrolière et gazière norvégienne Equinor a déclaré avoir acquis une participation de 25% dans Bayou Bend CCS LLC.

Bayou Bend CCS LLC is an American project that captures and stores carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions along the Gulf Coast in southeastern Texas. The acquisition of Equinor s' inscrit dans l' ambition de cette compagnie de développer une capacité nette de transport et de stockage de CO2 15 to 30 million tons by 2035. In fact, la compagnie pétrolière et gazière norvégienne développe there have already been several CO2 storage projects in Europe, particularly in Norway and Great Britain

The Bayou Bend project covers both onshore and offshore areas where CO2 captured from industrial emitters, such as cement, steel, or chemical producers, could be stored underground.
