He went to seek guidance and instructions from the Burkinabe authorities, as part of the exercise of his mandate.
Since 2022, the new director Désiré Guedon has represented Burkina Faso, which is a shareholder and investor in the ADB, as well as 7 other countries. Indeed, in order to effectively carry out his mandate, the administrator representing Burkina Faso came to discuss with the Burkinabe authorities. He said: “I came on a consultation mission to Burkina Faso. Because I represent this country in the decision-making bodies of the African Development Bank. I came to seek their guidance and instructions to defend Burkina Faso's interests within the African Development Bank.”
He reassures us that the Bank is supporting the various projects and challenges that Burkina Faso is going through. For his part, the head of government said that the African Development Bank should make more efforts in the area of development. According to him, all continents are developing, except the African continent. Thus, he believes, the African Development Bank, in addition to other actors, must work to truly stimulate development on the African continent.
