Chad is implementing an electrification project in the cities of Biltine, Bongor and Bol. A project that has several objectives.

The project implemented by Chad aims to improve access to electricity and the quality of the energy supplied to meet the growing demand for electricity (around 5% per year) in areas of favoured people of the country. This same project will also increase the capacity to produce clean and sustainable electrical energy, particularly in the cities of Biltine, Bongor and Bol, and reduce production costs in certain localities.

Likewise, it aims to acquire and install computer equipment for the remote management of distribution and to interconnect twelve secondary power generation centers in order to improve the quality of billing and recovery. It will also serve to strengthen the capacities of the National Electricity Company (SNE) and other actors in the energy sector (regulatory agency, Ministry of Energy).

Noted that the said project is also part of the “Desert to Power” initiative, aimed at accelerating economic development in the Sahel region through the large-scale deployment of technologies sunscreens.
