Au cours From the Algerian-Mauritanian business forum organized on the sidelines of the Algerian Production Fair in Nouakchott on Saturday, January 21, 2023, the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, announced the signing of seven (7) agreements in various sectors between Algerian and Mauritanian companies.

The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion announced in a statement that “seven agreements were signed on the occasion of the Algerian Production Fair, inaugurated last Thursday in Nouakchott, and the Forum é Algerian-Mauritanian economic event organized on Saturday on the sidelines of this event”. For him, “the agreements in question were concluded for very large amounts (...) in millions of dollars” between Algerian and Mauritanian companies. They concern sectors such as “cement, batteries, windows and doors, and food products.”

According to Rezig, exchanges in the past were “limited to food products”, but this fair, which brings together 166 Algerian companies (public and private), presented the “strength of the national economy” to the Mauritanian brothers.” He thus focused on the quality of participation and the diversity of sectors (between 20 and 25 activities). Also, he specified during the event, “the agreements signed today are only the beginning, as there are ongoing discussions between the two parties in all sectors.”
