In 2019, out of a combined objective of 4,256.2 billion FCFA (approx. $7 billion) set by the authorities
authorities to the tax and customs administrations, a total of 4138.2 billion FCFA was
mobilized. That is a recovery rate of 97.2%.
At the end of December 2019, tax revenue amounted to 2306.6 billion FCFA (about $3.8 billion) for
an initial objective of 2410.2 billion FCFA. That is an achievement rate of 95.6%.
According to the tax administration, revenue mobilization was driven by certain taxes such as the tax on
value added (VAT), taxes on wages and salaries, coffee-cocoa registration fees,
oil and gas revenues, property tax, stamp duties and patents. For the year 2020, the objective of
mobilization of tax revenue is set at 2716.2 billion FCFA (about $4.5 billion), an increase of
17.7% compared to the level of revenue mobilized in 2019.
As for customs receipts, they stood at 1832 billion FCFA (approximately $3 billion) at the end of
December 2019, against an initial target of 1846 billion FCFA. That is an achievement of 99.2%. The goal
provisional assigned to Ivorian customs for 2020 is set at 1990.95 billion FCFA (approximately 3.3 billion
$), an increase of 8.6% compared to the level of customs revenue mobilized in 2019.
