The National Assembly approved the initial budget bill for 2023. It was during a public session held on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of Cheikh Ould Baya.

In accordance with the initial budget bill for the year 2023, the resources allocated to the state budget for the year 2023 amount to 454,883,000 102 (one hundred eight hundred eighty three thousand four hundred and fifty-four) MRU, an increase of 3.03% compared with the amended budget law for the year 2022.

The public sector expenditure planned in the initial budget bill for the year 2023 amounts to a total of one hundred eleven billion four hundred forty eight hundred and forty-eight (448 844 423 111) MRU, an increase of 3.03% compared with the amended budget law for 2022.

The envelope allocated to current expenditure in the original finance law for the year 2023 decreased by 831 109 887 5 MRU, compared with the amended budget law for the year 2022, to reach 603 253 470 56 MRU. The total subsidized investment budget for the year 2023 amounts to MRU 51.3 billion.
