On November 25, 2022, the 60th anniversary symposium of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) took place at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre. On the occasion, the Minister of Economy and Finance of Togo, Sani Yaya welcomed and encouraged the efforts of the UEMOA issuing institution in reviving economies as well as in the fight against inflation.

The Minister of Economy and Finance of the Togolese Republic has expressed an opinion on the economic recovery and anti-inflation measures taken by the Central Bank of Central Bank States of West African States (BCEAO). “We are very honored to participate in this 60th anniversary symposium of the BCEAO and the UEMOA. And this symposium is taking place in a context of global upheaval with various crises, in particular the health crisis and geopolitical tensions at the international level with the war between Russia and Ukraine, but also security threats in the sub-region,” he said.

For him, “central banks are called to discuss these technological advances, which are intended to boost the financing of our economies and to find ways to support all these technological, cryptocurrency, digital and digital changes in financing our economies”.
