The National Police of Burkina Faso put an end to the activities of a network whose main activity was counterfeiting in the town of Bobo.

A suspicious individual in possession of a batch of counterfeit bank notes worth 354,000 FCFA was arrested at a drinking establishment in the city. Thus, following the investigations, it should be noted that the banknotes, consisting mainly of denominations of 5,000 and 10,000 FCFA francs, were made in a country of the subregion, then transferred via “smugglers” by camouflage to Burkina Faso in batches of up to 02 million.

These banknotes that are exchanged in Bobo-Dioulasso on site at 250,000 FCFA for 1,000,000 counterfeits. It was through the Regional Judicial Police Service (SRPJ) in Hauts-Bassins that the intervention teams of the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) managed to get their hands on the gang's mastermind and two (02) of its accomplices.
