There was a positive trend in the main export products of the member countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) at the end of 2021 compared to the year 2020. This is mentioned in the report on UEMOA's foreign trade for the year 2021 drawn up by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) based in Dakar (Senegal). Indeed, as far as gold exports are concerned, this report indicated that they have continued their upward trend, which began in 2013, reaching 6,331.8 billion FCFA in 2021, an increase of 7.3% compared to 2020.
