A press release issued on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 mentioned that the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has signed a new partnership agreement with the South African railway company Thelo DB Proprietary Limited (Thelo DB).

The signing of the memorandum of understanding took place on the sidelines of the Africa Investment Forum held from 2 to 4 November 2022 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Thus, this agreement renews the previous agreement concluded in 2019 and which aims to promote trade and investment flows on the continent through coordinated intervention in the rail sector.
