Youssouf Bathily, Cheick Oumar Camara, Lamine Sacko respectively president of the Mali Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIM), the secretary general of this institution and then the accountant are the three people detained. Indeed, according to a source at the prosecutor's office in this jurisdiction, the three officials arrested are suspected of mismanagement of a fund of more than 10 billion FCFA francs, or about 15 million euros, linked to the fight against Covid-19.
The Ccim has its headquarters in Bamako and its mission is to organize and professional represent natural and legal persons engaged in various sectors of commercial, industrial and service activities, according to its information site.
