In cooperation with the Avril Group, Lesiter Cristal initiated the growth of its activities in Africa. In 2021, the Avril Group, its main shareholder, entrusted it with the development of its African assets in the consumer goods sector. They created the new soap factory unveiled in Dakar on Tuesday, November 16, 2022.

One of the few factories in the world to produce no liquid waste and one of the few to also consume the least energy, the new soap factory requires an envelope of 65 million dirhams.

Dedicated to the manufacture of personal hygiene products under the brand “La Main”, a site with an area of 2,500 m², has created 115 jobs, benefiting the populations of the Dakar region. Indeed, in order to meet the various needs of the site, the recruitment of a hundred additional people is planned eventually.

For Stéphane Yrlès, secretary general of the Avril Group, “This large-scale deployment carried out in Senegal is an example of successful cooperation. It is a further realization of our common ambitions in Africa. Building on its success on its national market, Oleosen will continue its role as a gateway to the UEMOA region (West African Economic and Monetary Union), thus offering Lesieur Cristal a real springboard for growth into new countries, in line with our desire to strengthen our common approach to creating food sovereignty in Africa.”
