The Karowe diamond mine in Botswana delivered 89,145 carats in the first quarter of 2024, up from 89,640 carats a year earlier, announced on 10 May by its Canadian owner Lucara Diamond.

Lucara Diamond has just published its activity report for the first quarter of 2024 in Karowe, Botswana. This asset is expected to deliver a maximum of 375,000 carats in 2024, contributing to Botswana's status as the world's largest diamond producer by value. The balance sheet shows that sales revenue fell slightly to $39.5 million

It should be noted that this decrease is partly due to the low price environment on the diamond market in recent months. Revenues have in fact fallen despite a 12% increase in the volume of diamonds sold, to 93,560 carats.
