The China Association of Listed Enterprises reported that there were 3,629 manufacturing companies listed on the Chinese stock market at the end of March 2024.

At the end of March 2024, the Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing stock exchanges had 2,272, 2,851 and 247 listed companies respectively. In China, the vast majority of listed companies mainly focus on manufacturing, information transmission, software, information technology services, wholesale trade, and retail trade
